Recreation in Swansea
Even though the study programme is intense, you will still
have time available for a full and active social life. As
a Foundation Student you will be able to take advantage
of the University's extensive range of social and sporting
facilities during your leisure time.
The focal point for most Swansea students is the University
Union, which is one of the UK's largest and most active
with an extensive range of bars, clubs, events and societies.
The Students Union alone offers over 100 social and sporting
societies which welcome new members and provide a cheap
and enjoyable entertainment.
The University has an impressive range of sporting facilities
including its own sports centre. An Olympic sized pool is
currently under construction.
Swansea also offers a great deal outside the University.
Its city centre provides opportunities for shopping, eating
out, and visits to the theatre and cinema.
The city's extensive parklands and beaches offer opportunities
for peace, quiet and relaxation within easy distance of
the main campus. The parks and beaches are a great place
for a picnic in the summer and an ice-cream van can always
