Man and the Weather
Weather is one of the most important things in man's life. For a farmer, wrong weather may mean that he has poor crops, or no crops at all. For sailors and airmen, bad weather often brings danger, and sometimes means death.

Now satellites are helping man to forecast the weather. They take photos of the atmosphere and send them back to earth. So man can see the weather of any part of the world. When a storm is beginning, people will get a warning in advance. As a result, they usually have better chance to protect themselves and their homes.

Scientists in many countries are looking for ways to control storms and rain. They may even change the weather in some parts of the world. For example, they have plans to make some places warmer. They also have a way to destroy clouds to prevent hail from coming into being. We believe that man can get the weather under 9control some day.
