1. man 指 "人类"，作主语时，它后面的动词用单数形式。

    我们按照建议办事，故而一直得到满意的结果。

    as a (the) result (of) 作为…的结果
    She died as the direct result of the traffic accident.
    她的死是那次交通事故的直接结果。

  7. look for 寻求，寻找

    He is looking for his missing wallet.
    Don't look for help from him.

    prevent … from … 防止，制止，介词 from 后面的 coming 是动名词，如：

    come into being 形成，生成，例如：

    No one knows when such a custom first came into being.
    没人知道这样一种习俗是什么时候形成的。

  9. We believe that man can get the weather under control some day.
    我们相信，人类总有一天能够控制天气。
    "that man can get the weather under control some day" 是宾语从句。
    get… under control 控制，操纵，使……听话。如：

    Scientists are trying to get the problem under control.
    科学家们正在设法解决这个问题。
    some day 将来某一天，有朝一日，如：
    I will visit Tibet some day.
    总有一天我要去西藏访问。
    This will happen some day.
    这事总有一天会发生。
