1. used to: 表示一个已经中断的习惯,或过去经常例行的活动及方式。其否定式为used not (usedn't)
…;疑问式为used you / he / they /?;否定疑问式为usedn't you / he / they?。 或把它当作实意动词,借助do的过去时提问或否定:did

2. forbid [ f[`bidn ]
(1) vt. 禁止
Offensive language is forbidden in the classroom.

4. the other sex: 那另一性,这里指的是女性。"the other"指两者之间除去其一剩下的那一个;"other"别的,其他的;"another"是指除去一个剩下的三者以上的任何一个;"the
