4. fare: get on; succeed; get along, experience good
and bad fortune, turn out, do, perform
5. meditate: think quietly, think seriously, contemplate,
collect one’s thought
6. limbo: a place neither heaven nor hell where the
souls of those who have not done evil may go even
though they were not Christians; a state of uncertainty

Until I found myself meditating on cheese, or spiritualism
or … Till I found myself thinking about cheese, or
thinking of the art of getting messages, from the
dead, or my mind wandering along mountains the west
coast of North America.

Somewhere in the Limbo…picture upon ghostly wall.:
(By this time I am getting somewhat sleepy,) My mind
is no longer as clear as before, instead, it is filled
with some vague and uncertain dreamy ideas, and so
is the imaginary unstraightened picture and sleep
is approaching me.
