Tom: How
are you doing? It's pretty late in the evening
to be in the library the first week of class.
Li: My English teacher gave me a very
hard term paper assignment. But I have the
whole semester to do it.
Tom: Maybe I can help you.
Li: I hope so. I'd never heard of the
British poet I was supposed to study, and
our librarians hadn't either. But we finally
found a book of poetry with a few of her best
poems in it. They were mostly about love.
She was also mentioned briefly in "Encyclopedia
Brittanica."
Tom: I can use email to ask my American
friends to look for more of her poems, and
some articles about her. There's still plenty
of time to mail them, though of course email
would be faster. Maybe there's a website about
her, or a website about romantic poetry that
mentions her.
Li: What else can we do? Our teacher
wants each paper to have 15 references.
Tom: My American classmates can go
to our college library, and they can use interlibrary
loan to find some books or articles about
her that are not in our library.
Li: That's probably plenty. I hope
so. |
