Now we are living in the Information Age. Everyday we are drowning in a flood of information. People can get information from various kinds of sources----television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, the internet, etc. Dear friends, what are your favorite sources of information? How do you get most of your information? Talking to other people, reading books in the library, surfing the internet, or else? Surely, each of them has its own advantage. First let's see some people's opinions about sources of information.
Tom: TV is the most watched and most trusted source
of information for most Americans. 93 percent of Americans
watch a network television program in the course of a week,
and 69 percent of Americans say TV is the most trusted source
of information. No other source of information comes close.
when TV combines with the Internet to create Digital TV
it will become even more powerful.
Jane: The Web is an excellent resource to find information,
gain knowledge. I can't imagine being without it. I think
the Web is better than any encyclopedia or other research
tool because it is constantly updating. It is at my finger
tips. I needn't walk around searching for a book that might
not be there. On the Web, people from different backgrounds
and walks of life can reach each other, sharing themselves
and their wishes with others who they will probably never
meet.
What do you think of their opinions? Talk with your classmates about the benefits of each.
