1.前面所过的那个美丽的布雷谷或布莱谷，是一处群山环绕幽静偏僻的地方。虽然离伦敦不过四个钟头的路程，但是他的大部分都不曾有过游历家和风景图画的足迹。马勒村就在东北部分那块起伏地带中间。

2.渴望爱、寻求知识和对人类苦难的深切同情，这是支配我的生活的 3 种简单而无比强烈的情感。

3.对每一个晴天丽日，对鸟语花香，我的感触倍加强烈。平日呼吸轻松，吞食自如，走路毫不费劲，一夜安寝到天明，我们几曾回味过其中的乐趣？

1. A female is most beautiful when she is in tears that reveal her innermost love. Tears are gifts bestowed by God to all living things of sensitivity, especially a woman, for they serve as an outlet to her pent-up feelings. When love is crystallized it turns into tears to convey messages of the heart.

2. Several young women once told me what often happens these days in their dorms. When a make calls in for a female student who happens to be out, they are asked to leave a home telephone or pager number. If the caller is using a public telephone, he is likely to apologize for not having one of these novelties. “If you can't even afford a pager,” he would be told bluntly, “she won't bother to call you back!”
