Communicative Tasks:


Directions: Work with a peer and take turns to start the conversation.

Task 1:

Situation: Two students are talking about success in academic pursuit.
Role A: You're a little bit depressed about physics course, thinking that you were not born for science and no matter how hard you work you just cannot keep up with other students.
Role B: You're very much concerned with your friend's depression. You try to comfort and encourage him/her. You give your friend some examples of brilliant scientists who were rather dull students when they were young.
